New to the 1911, Just pick up a STI Trojan and love it. Sights are adjustable rear with front post, both solid black.

What are your favorite sights and why?

Can I change them out myself?

If no to above ?, then who to use, turnaround time, and price expected to pay.

Thanks in advance

Eddie

Re: 1911 sights questions

You want a larger bladed rear sight, more daylight? Larger sharper front sight image, glow in the dark or what? Why are you changing the factory adjustable?

If you want to change out the rear sight you need to understand that you have a Bo-Mar cut on the rear of the slide. Everything that has been mentioned is for a Novak cut. Your going to have to go with a Harrison Design Extreme Rear Sight if you want a fixed RS. Otherwise, leave the fake Bo Mar that is on it, find your preferred front sight, dial it in and locktite the crap out of it.

Good luck

ETA - you can carefully open up the rear notch as well.
