alright so I dont claim to be one of the "old" guys around here but have been on a minute and I've been noticing ALOT of some really stellar first posts lately, wonder why that is.

So, I thought maybe I was a teenage sounding tool as well and went back to see what my very first post was. Then it got me thinking how about everyone elses. I think it'd be interesting to see some of the "old dogs" or "regulars" first posts and see compared to their more recent exploits. If nothing else out of humor, but think we might see some trends?

This idea is not limited to the high post count guys, everyone welcome. (dont have the attention span to search everyone elses posts list) so lets put them up here in one location.

so post your very first post. Here is mine, generally the same stupidity youd get out of me today

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> looked for a thread dedicated to introductions, but couldn't find one. I guess "The Bear Pit" would be the right place for mine then, save for the fact that even the name "The Bear Pit" makes me think it'll be tough to fit in here.

Basically, my knowledge on weapons is slim to none. I want to learn, so that's how I accidently found my way here. I'm hoping if I keep quiet and pay attention I might be able to learn a thing or two. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone willing to answer all my dumb questions.

Personal info, my name is Chelsea. I'm female, yes. I'm a baby, pretty young. I've never used a weapon in my life, unless you count my fists! Haha, or throwing shuriken for fun. I've got no idea if I'm going to make it on this forum, but I won't hold my breath.</div></div>

hey. i was honest and had the right idea.

Re: 1st Post Pioneers

very good points......

guess we can just post our oldest one currently in archived list, would accomplish close to the same thing and will be more for fun then as opposed to theory proving

i'll go hang myself now........

Re: 1st Post Pioneers

The oldest post I could find was in the Good Guys list praising a member that no longer exists . It is on the first page of the GG list and dated November 2004 . The other guys I gave praise to I am still in regular contact with .

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Brian Harvey is a good dude to deal with . Traded him for a rifle which showed up extremely quick and exactly as advertised . When I contacted him by phone he was pleasant to deal with and even gave me the reloading data for the rifle . I would do business with him again in a heartbeat .
Other good guys include...

Redman
M700
Arcticlight

Will add more as my feeble mind remembers.</div></div>

All my original posts are long gone.
The earliest one I could pull up was 10/30/2007.

If you are looking to get some of the true "Old Dogs" first posts you are most likey out of luck... </div></div>

Yup...sadly anything older than a couple of years is done.

I can't get to anything beyond 02/29/08, but that post was a positive review left for Parallax in the "Good Guy List" for an M1 Garand I bought from him. The closest thread to that date that I can see that I actually started was on vendors/gunsmiths offering custom barrel options for the DTA SRS.

Oh well...it was a good idea anyway, VA!!

Re: 1st Post Pioneers

The oldest one available is a Good Guys post.

My first post was a question about the correct front sight height of a M1A Scout. My rifle was hitting 8-10" high... SA sent a replacement, didn't work, ended up sending it back and they had to re-barrel it.

Re: 1st Post Pioneers

Here we are aging ourselves, making ourselves feel old.
There used to be a thing in your heading, in the Old Days, that showed what number you were as far as membership.
I kind of miss that. I think my number was 23 or 24 and Greg was 3 or therabouts. Mostly Jarheads, but would let an Army guy in too.
My first ost was about why my Garand shot the first shot low left then the shots afterward would be on target.
Not quite in battery but close.
Still the same with that rifle, hold high right for the first shot then go for it.
I was new to the internet and had no idea as to how it worked and am still wondering to this day but was kindly reminded by someone to thank the member that had answered my question.
I still dont know much about this internet thing but learn everyday.
My thanks to Lowlight and numberless others that have been there for me with my questions and comment over the years, it has been a great ride.
I know I get under the skin on LEOs but have been around them most of my life and know how things go down. Take it for what it is, something for you to think about, looking through another set of eyes, dont make the mistakes of others nor defend wrongdoing. Be better than that.
I have enjoyed it all. Regards, FM
My manners have not gotten better, They dont call me Foul Mike for no reason. Thanks guys and gals, I enjoy you all.

Re: 1st Post Pioneers

My only issue here is that I still believe the Newb needs to be treated as well as I was when I first reported aboard.

For all the sites I have posted on, this one is very close to being the only one still in commission. I still can't figure out what happened to "The Few..." I miss those fine folks.

These days, the only other site I post on has nothing to do with guns.

Got things figured out now, some things anyway.

Here is the thread

I took one of my 700's apart right after posting, got the factory trigger down to a fairly consistant fairly clean 2 & 3/4 lb pull. It started at around 5lbs. Had never thought about messing with one of my triggers until seeing this. Might not be the best trigger but the improvements I made were free... Needless to say I'm hooked on the Hide now

I think I found a good first thread to read anyways...

Re: 1st Post Pioneers

my first was kinda lame and cautious.

but i did realize that i spend way too much time logged on. if i spent that much time at a part time job, i'd have enough money saved up to buy another shooting rig!

but i also see how much i've learned from you guys.

Mine is long gone too. But I expect it was a simple thanks to LL for inviting me to join his original site, <span style="font-style: italic">The LowLight Directive</span>.
