Range Report 1st time shooting at 1200 yards

The rifle used for this range trip is an Accurate Ordnance 6.5 Creedmoor. Ammo was factory Hornady 147 ELD-M bullets. It should be noted that the previous longest distance shot before was only to 400 yards.

This past week I was fortunate enough to get to spend some vacation time at K&M Shooting Complex in Finger, TN. It was not difficult to get hits out to 1,000 yards so my buddy and I decided to go out to 1,200 yards. Out of 5 rounds shot, 3 hit the target. Not the tightest group but that s*#t eating grin was pure happiness for banging steel at that distance. Just wanted to share it folks

Congratulations. I got my first hits at 1250 and thought it wasn't that hard. The next time I went and it was windy- I got my feelings hurt.

Heading back down to TN in mid March and plan on spending a week at K&M. Hoping my new 6.5 Creedmoor rifle will be ready. This one will be based on a Manners T4A stock with mini-chassis.

I'm truly jealous , here in OR Portland area there is no such distance to find for decent long range shooting... had to give up 50 bmg and 408CT.

Originally from Memphis and get back down there a couple times a year. 1,250 mile drive each way and well worth it.

7 hour drive each way for me and if I can make it down 4 times a year I consider it worth it for me.
