I have been reloading for a couple years now but just getting started in the precision game. I recently got a new Redding full length bushing die and was wondering how much accuracy is affected between new brass and fired brass that has had the shoulder bumped .002 for the rifle it was fired in. Also, does it matter if 1x fired brass is fired from a different rifle initially as long as I bump the shoulder back to my chamber length minus .002 since I am full length sizing as well? Thanks!

In terms of pure accuracy, the best scenario is to have 1x brass from your gun. The second best scenario is to have all the brass fired from ONE gun, sized for your chamber, then annealed. The third best scenario is to have all the brass, although fired in several different guns, sized to fit your chamber, then annealed.

I actually shoot 1x lake city 7.62 brass I purchase online (most likely fired from a military grade weapon) out of my .308 TIkka ctr t3x with rather amazing results. It’s always nice to use fireformed brass from the rifle you’re reloading for, but once ya know the fireformed headspace of your brass there shouldn’t be any issues using true 1x fired brass as long as you’re setting the headspace correct
