I am currently using a 2.5x10x24 ZS in a 20 MOA cant Larue mount on an LWRC REPR 18" bbl, I am currently shooting out to 400 yrds, it does not have a parallax adjustment, I wanted to take it further out, should I change out scopes?

Assuming a MV of 2550fps (yours is probably faster) and shooting a 168gr SMK, you'll be just fine for a ways by elevation travel.

I've taken my .223 AR15 to 500yds with a 3-9x40mm no problem.

Parallax is pretty much a non-issue in any scope with <10x max mag, hence few scopes with 10x and adj parallax. Run it and see.

What's up D?

Only thing I can expand beyond our PMs is where 19Scout77 alludes -- 10x is considered the average point where parallax is a huge issue. Based on how good your eyes are, it could be a must have or a nicety. Also, having a super thin reticle like the NP-R2 vs mildot will make you need it more.

Here's a test you can perform with just your scope in hand ... pick a reference target like a stop sign, drive a 1/4 mile (485 yards) and see if you can easily acquire the target. Like I mentioned, 500 yards is about the threshold where the NP-R2 got squirrely for me -- per above, partly cause it's so thin.

If you want to range further, take:

0.3 miles = 582 yds
0.4 miles = 776 yds
0.5 miles = 970 yds

Only other factor is if you ever see yourself shooting beyond 500. I would take a 'maybe' as 'yes'.
