20" barrel 7wsm or 284win?

I've been wanting to build a lightweight, compact hunting rifle and am wondering what you guys think as far as caliber choice. Anybody have experience with these rounds out of a short tube? Will the 7wsm shoot much faster than the 284 out of that short of a barrel or would I just be wasting powder?

ive been considering a 284 or 7wsm short barreld rig aswell,and i googled the topic of short barrels. Glen from Seekins says he runs a 23" 7wsm using 162 amax above 3k fps.Id not go any shorter than 22" in a magnum.my opinion.

Seems to me if you go that short it would limit your load choice.
But if Glen Seekins is getting those results you dont need much more.
