Hi guys,

I need some help finding a load that will work 1:12 twist. I would like to use 55 V-max. I have H335/Varget on hand but open to other brands. Other components I plan on using are LC brass and 7 1/2 primers.

Also open to lighter V-Max bullets.

60gr Hornady Vmax's was the best bullet out of this gun for me.

Almost everything I have read about 1:12 twist .223 20" barrels suggested using no higher than a 55gr bullet.
Has anyone else had good results with 60gr bullets in a 1:12 twist .223 20" barrel???

Nosler 55 grain bt with 25 grains of H335, shoots ~ .5 @ 100 & 1.1 @ 200 in my rifle (savage with 1x9). The Nosler reloading book also shows this as the most accurate load in their 55 grain bullets. Barrel used for their testing was a 1x12 lilja. 40 - 50 grain bullets try Win 748 ~ 27 grains.
