Anyone have a Larue 20 Inch Stealth upper and a good load for 69 (or 68) grain Nosler HPBT / SMKs?

I'm looking for a powder and bullet combo for this rig.

Lots of ways to do this, Varget, RL-15, N133, H335, IMR 8208, 2520, Benchmark, Tac, on and on. Pick one, use which ever you have on hand. I like the 69 SMK, but nothing wrong with the Hornaday 68. If it is a 1 in 7 I wouldn't use the Nosler 69 as I've had them come apart.

    Well,

I've got BLC(2), RL-15, and H335 laying around... so I'll try those and see what happens.

I was hoping that someone has a specific load that works well in the 20 inch Larue upper, so that I could start with that.

...I got starting load from the Hide for my TRG-42 and it shot flawlessly at distance... figured I'd give it another try with the AR.

Here is some sage advice from asbestosglove: "There is no need to test it. Put anyones match 68 or 69 over 25grs. Varget loaded mag length and shoot it. Put anyones 75-77 grainer over 24.5grs Varget loaded mag length and shoot it. Rinse, repeat."

If varget does not work, try RL15.

Re: 20 Inch Larue AR 68/69Grain Load Data?

    I developed a 1 MOA load of 25.7Gr BLC-2 pushing a 69gr SMK at 2800-2850 fps through a 20" Bushmaster 1 in 9.

BLC-2 and H335 Meter well but are temperature sensitive.
I was looking for a load that I could full progressive reload with while using a ball powder.

I'm going to try Reloader 15 and Varget next and see if if the groups will shrink.

They say H335 is better for the lighter bullets 52-55Gr.

Re: 20 Inch Larue AR 68/69Grain Load Data?

    So,

    I made a bunch of SS109 using H335...

About 300 rounds of 77 SMKs using RL-15...

...and 250 69gr Nosler MHPBTs using BLC(2) [I had a pound I had to get rid of].

Intersting though, I did not know the BLC2 and H335 are temperature sensitive. That's why I started using Reloader-15 and Reloader-22 in some of my applications. (375 H&H and 300WM)

Prior to that I was using Vitha Vouri for most stuff...

So guess we'll see how they work for pinking.

    This.

Look up Sierra loading manual specifically for AR's as well as white oak armaments reloading stuff. But I tried both varget and RL15 using the 69SMK, 77SMK, 65Game King, and they seemed to shoot right along side each other out to 200(as far as i went) I finally got a decent trigger in it so I'm sure itll do better than the .75 mine was shooting before now.

I just ordered some Winchester brass and 600 of the Hornady 75gr HPBT from Graf & Son's.

I'm going to try this load for starters. My 22BR shoots very well with the 75gr AMAX and ~28gr VarGet.

Looking for something more accurate than XM193, and as a bonus the 75gr HPBT should match-up a little closer to the BDC in my TA11H ACOG.
