20 moa AI AE base from USO: Anybody tried it

Re: 20 moa AI AE base from USO: Anybody tried it

It replaces the current rail and is aluminum, not steel. I was going to purchase one a few years back but Stacey Blankenship steered me away from it, he said that they are know to have problems and may not be perfectly fitted/in spec.

I would highly recommend using the factory AI mount if you need extra elevation. It is rock solid and very reliable.

Re: 20 moa AI AE base from USO: Anybody tried it

I belive there is an error on the webpage as the AE does not have any dovetail.
But as I am told that USO have a correct mil-spec rail to replace the one of the AE i belive this is the one.

I was kinda hoping you'd chime in. I've noticed you run just rings on your setup.

More than likely, i'll stick with the AI mount

I have one on my AE MkII. It is an aluminum picatiny rail that replaces the factory rail with no modifications.

I don't know what sort of problems one could have with it.

I would simply recommend if you are using a 30mm or 34mm main tube, then you can directly mount your optics with one of the following:
1. part #6371, 30mm 18moa
2. part #3108, 34mm 18moa
3. part #3436, 34mm 28moa
4. part #5656, 34mm 45moa

One of these mounts covers most any application and end user requirements and all of these mounts are around $186 in stock @ Mile High right now. Much easier unless you are mounting a 35mm or 40mm main tube optics. Have a good weekend.
