I just bought a used Tikka T3x and it looks like there is a base on but I’m not sure if this looks right. Any input is appreciated. There’s a notable lip on the front of the base. Is this correct? Sorry I’m new to long range.

There are too many that don’t “know good” before making comments.I picked up a rail base from MDT. I feel like there are too many "No good" to not just try a new base.
Your recollection is correct.Don’t you just have to back the screw out? I feel like I remember reading the front ones there for mirage shield attachments etc. Certainly don’t use it to cam a quarter pipe i to your scope base.
When it’s in properly, it looks like a screw that’s backing out and the rail should be flat. I guess if one fooled with it enough, the rail could be bent.Did you back the screw out. Did it flatten out?
It’s a common mistake that people make with the tikka.
