My .02cents is probably the DD Ross, NF, then Badger. In that order.

Seems to me that the strength of the base is moot, it will depend on how it is attatched. Use 8-40 screws at previously mentioned.

This........ I own TPS on all my rifles and they work just fine for there purpose.
