20 year old primed brass... any good?

Re: 20 year old primed brass... any good?

The only thing to really be concerned about is if they were stored someplace very humid. Over time the priming compound could have absorbed the water and lost some of it's brisance.

I've got primers that old, but not concerned. I know the history.
If it's good enough deal, I'd buy for the brass and knock the primers out.

Re: 20 year old primed brass... any good?

I have some primers that are very old and were not stored well. With that said I will get 1 or 2 per 100 that will give me extra trigger time. They almost always end up firing but those few might take an extra primer strike or two. Honestly I think it has helped my fundamentals. I would not use them for anything other than practice.

I bought 1000 of them. Supposedly new LC 91 & 92 brass that was factory primed. Saw a picture of them in a sealed heavy duty plastic bag, but I have no idea if the bag is still air tight. Bought them for about half the price Scharch is asking for new LC .223 brass ($105.00 per 500). Soon I'll know.
