After a year at the taxidermist, a year in storage, and another 6 weeks in transit, I finally got my 2008 mount home. It was a 5 1/2 year old, 9 piont that grosses 142 5/8". He weighed 228lbs after field dressing. It was my biggest so far at that time. Taken Dec. 31st the last afternoon of archery season in northern Minnesota. I had watched this deer grow up for 4 years and finally got a good shot on him, 10 yards. This deer was taken from public land. I think the mount came out good, his cape was pretty rough at the time I shot him, long winter hair with frozen ice balls in it and all scarred up from fighting. Inside spread is 20 1/2".

Re: 2008 whitetail mount back

I got another one the same year, also archery party hunting. Halloween afternoon. That was my holiday buck year. Sorry for the crappy sideways pic. He was another 9 point non typical, 4 dagger points coming straight up on one side. 236lbs dressed, my heaviest ever. Was a 2 hour drag back to the truck, public land.
