2011 Oregon Sniper Challenge.

We just got the date confirmed with the range. The 2011 event will be held on the weekend of June 11th and 12th. Please keep checking our website (www.coldborecomps.com) for registration instructions and course of fire descriptions. We have chosen my good friend Chuck Mawhinney as this years honoree. Chuck will be in attendance at the event and is a legend in the sniper community as well as a hell of a nice guy. We are proud to be able to honor such a worthy individual. This is going to be a big one and we hope to see ya there. Stay safe. Steve.

Interesting caliber restriction this year of "5.56 (.223) and 7.62 (.308 Win)." I take it to mean one can shoot either a 5.56 or 7.62 caliber but not anything in between such as 260Rem and such.

Bummer I just sold my .308 and wont have my new one before then maybe next year

Tony and I had a good time last year, of course he had a better time since he won, but it was a lot of fun.

No more 2nd place out of the helicopter, that makes 4 times at 2nd place. LOL

Hello everyone. Thanks for your interest in the 2011 Oregon Sniper Challenge. I would like to say that Jen and I are overwhelmed and amazed at the the number of people who were wanting entry into this event. Your interest in our competition is awesome and we want to say "Thank you". We are still learning some hard lessons and this year it was the registration process. Our goal is to make it as fair as possible for our civilian shooters as we will always save spots for our Sponsors, the Military and a few LE Teams/Govt. agencies. Unfortunately this year the fact is that I saved a few too many spots and adding to the problem I also ran a "VIP" signup for the shooters who shot in last years event. My thought was to do them (2010 Shooters) a favor since they supported us in the beginning. While I'm always glad to help someone who helps us out, I really shot myself in the foot on this one. I honestly had no idea that the 2011 event would fill up in seconds. Unfortunately this eagerness to sign up directly and adversely effected the outcome of fellas who were wanting to get in on open registration day. I apologise to everyone that didn't make it into the event because of this and want to let you know that we are going to make every effort to make the "civilian" registration as fair as possible in 2012. Next year will see a revamped registration process with "No favoritism/No VIP". Again our goal is to make it "fair to everyone". Once again I apologise for this years registration process and assure you all that it wont happen again. Steve.
