2013 Steel Challenge

Awesome, awesome match! Kudos to Carl and staff! Loved the rain- made it easier to call the tricky winds!
It was great seeing familiar faces and watching some fantastic shooting.

That was an awesome match! Big thanks to Carl and all the RO's, it was clear that a great deal of work went into set up. It's rewarding and fun to practice some teamwork (Thanks Ken)! Stage 12 was incredible! I'm already looking forward to next year. Congratulations to Jake V. and Brian on the win.

Thanks Carl, to you and all of your "staff"!!!! A GREAT match!!!!!!! The only drawback is that the next one is a year away!
Jim

Thanks Carl for putting the match on.
great job.
really like the 2 day format.
lots of challenging stages.

best stage was Jim's, stage 12; 27 rounds in 3 minutes or less.

looking forward to next year
Jes

Fun. challenging, and for a great cause. I really enjoyed the two day format and team scoring. Thanks to Carl and all the ROs and helpers for another great match.

Great match! Thanks for all the hard work that goes into putting one on. Big thanks to the RO's and congrats to those that shot well.
Thumbs up for the team format.

This was my fifth year competing in the Steel Challenge and it's the best time, period. Hat's off to Carl, the RSOs and the Kettle Falls Mafia! Super job as always, and all for a great cause: Camp Patriot and America's veterans. (Home - Welcome to Camp Patriot.org)

I'm grateful for having such a kick-ass shooting pard in Willys46 -- fourth place was a sweet surprise -- and terrific friends among the Portland crew.

The team format, two-day timeline and not one but three movers were excellent improvements. Jim the Plumber's Stage 12 was epic. Thanks, also, to generous sponsors JC Steel Targets, Justin Boots, Spartan Blades, Glock, Nightforce, et al.

Now, where'd I set my chicken burrito ... ? ;)

Sorry for the delay. I was trying to get the individual scores to populate rank but the computer wouldn't cooperate. Spread sheets don't like to post here well but with a little deciphering I think you can all figure it out. I will also email this to the list of competitors.

Thanks again for everyones support!

Big Thanks! to Carl and the crew that help put on this match. A great cause going towards Camp Patriot. I too am another fan of the new format and team scoring. Looks like i need more practice shooting from a boat for next year, it is still a weak spot of mine!

Carl--thanks for another f-ing awesome match! The new format definitely added some urgency to some of the stages, and Stage 12 was a total blast. The biting ants on Stage 1 were a good touch as well. Can't wait to see what you'll cook up for next year.

Thanks to the ROs and rest of the crew for all of your hard work.

Great match Carl, thanks again for all you do and the story behind why you do it. I took the time to talk to most of the ROs and ask where they were from, when you realize a few came from the corners of the US on their dime just to be a part of it and support Camp Patriot, thats amazing. On the first day we were trying to range the target in the fog (stage 8 I think) and we were getting a range of 50 yards off the fog, couldnt get any ranges. We asked the RO what the target size was, he didnt know so Craig and I gessed 24" and with our .8 mil call put it around 833 and we managed to get hits on steel.

I didnt get a chance to take many pics, hard running the camera when your shooting, here are a few;

Stage 7 with the winners Brian and Jake, you can see the tiny target over Jake's right shoulder (right shooter)
