O.K., here it comes again. April 4,5,and 6th. I just cut and pasted the info below from the previous match thread, but I'm sure it will be similar. Any changes will be announced in this thread. There will be 20 shooters per day for Saturday and Sunday. $50 match fee is due March 1st.. Any cancellations after Mar. 10 will not be refunded. If you already signed up after the last match you are GTG and no need to call back in. All match fees are dues right away to hold the slots that are spoken for. If not paid by Mar.1st., all unpaid slots are up for grabs to guys on the waiting list or day changes. This holding slots for no shows or two day notices of not coming keeps others from shooting this match.

Cost to shoot the match will be $ 50.00. There will be trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd places (NO PRIZE TABLE). Start time will be 8:00 am. We are looking at about 20 stages. We are going to run a few stages timed like a pistol match. Most stages you will have 2 shots per target if needed. It looks as if the longest shot could be 1000 yards or so. Minimum of 45 shots and max of about 80. It will be shot in a one day format. All competitors will pre register for the match. They will be able to shoot the match either on a Saturday or a Sunday. The staff will shoot on Friday. It looks as if there will be a couple of different structures to shoot from incorporated into the match. Scoring will be 10 points for a first shot hit and 5 points for a 2nd shot hit. Competitors will walk and carry what ever they think they will need for the match. There will be a break for lunch. There will be no spotters. We will call out a hit or a miss that is it. The scenario is You are behind enemy lines and your spotter is dead. There are no classes .... it's run what you brung. Nothing larger than .338 and of course no armor piercing ammo. Target ranges will be given, so no range finding needed for most of the match, but there could be a stage where you need to range a target using your reticle.

For directions, contact info etc. the web site is Rayner's Range There are also monthly matches on the 4th Sunday of every month if you'd like to check it out ahead of time. Overnight camping is permitted. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the concession/registration area.

As of right now this match is filled to capacity plus a couple extras. There are always a few cancellations or non-payments, so if you want to shoot it wouldn't hurt to get on the waiting list. There are a few spots that may be available to shoot on Friday with the match staff. Obviously this is a pretty popular match and a lot of fun. You can search some of the old match threads for pictures and good videos. Good luck to everyone.

For all the new guys, this is a awesome event they put on. I only got the opportunity to go to one snipers match last year and one monthly match, but I vowed to show up more often this year, and the people you meet are extraordinarily nice. Looking forward to another great match at Rayners!

I wish, I am still waiting for my first rifle capable for this to show up.

I did my first two with a 700 SPS Tactical .308, trust me, bring what you got and have a good time. Several people I seen had fixed 10x scopes and base model 700 Varmints. Your learn so much and have such a great time that you really dont think with a extreme competitive mindset. Hope to see you at one of the local matches soon, they usually have one every month, and its extremely laid back and worth the experience.

NOTICE anyone who wants to shoot tomorrow there will be a open spot!
my loss your gain so get down there and enjoy one of the best matches you'll ever
have the privilege of shooting in! good luck to all, BTW no dave preston so somebody

Bummer. With a little more than 12 hours notice, I'd of been all over this.

F.y.i, anybody coming in off of 77 and taking 146 in much of that road is flooded with up to almost 2 feet of water at max depth most of its 6 to 8 inches.

We drove it in a Ford Escort and got through, post video when I get home

What a great match!! Thank you Rayners for putting this match on!

So it looks like sunday guys got the best weather Friday had the worst with rain downpour, flooded out shooting positions, and wind. Saturday was in the 30's with 10 to 15 mile an hour gusts until about 2 o'clock and then it got sunny and warmer and the winds dropped to 5 to 10

Awesome match as usual. Thanks to the Rayners and crew for making it happen. Extra thanks to all the RO's who volunteered their time all weekend. This was a challenging match and I saw some damn fine shooting going on Saturday in our group by several guys and gal. Great job everyone. It sure was fun.

Yep I had a great time as usual and I am already looking forward to the one in November. It was a challenging and well ran match as always.

Still ranks at the top for sniper type matches for me. Well ran, smooth and challenging along
with always changing. Thanks Tom and Carolyn along with all the volunteers. Great match!

Great match yesterday. Thanks to everyone for helping Connor out in his first match. He had a great time and can't seem to wipe off that smile from smackin the 1000 yd target. Sorry we had to leave early...had to get him back home and it's a long drive. We'll be back!

Hey Im moving to the dayton area in the summer. Wanted to know what the tactical/long rang community is like in Ohio. And any general hunting laws ie are rifles allowed in most counties, or semi autos. Or any good ranges. Thanks.
