208 amax in stock

Re: 208 amax in stock

I asked rep at Hornady and was told that they will be available in November. I have 2000 on back order.

Re: 208 amax in stock

Nice try but we are still buying them

I can attest to this. They are perhaps the most vile projectile ever designed by man or computer. Simply handling them can give you warts. Send them all to me. I am a certified Hornady 208 Amax disposal expert.

Did they stop production at some point? I know I am late to the table on this topic.

I talked to a couple people at Hornady. I could NOT get a straight answer. But reading between the lines, I'm guessing that there production schedule was based on OLD usage, and a bunch of upstarts using 208's in their .308's and 30-'06's

have significantly increased the usage and cleaned out the stock at dealers and distributors. They, of course, will burn in hell. Now, I've suggested boiling them in oil, here and now, but there are cooler heads about that insist this is good for the sport. ARGGHHH!

So, production will continue in November, probably because Hornady believes that hunters (who shoot 5 rds./year) are a bigger market than long range shooters (who probably burn 1K rds./year) Silly them.

I predict next year will be better because they're getting a clue.

Numbers mean nothing! Legitimacy is everything! You're using the same arguments the Democrats used to support the election of Obama. Are you a Patriot?

I'll burn in hell for things worse than using a 208 amax in a .308. BTW jrob, in regards to your signature, I don't believe anything California comes up with anyway, so i'm going to go fondle my 208 amax's that I still have, and wait for the warts to appear.

So I should just send the 399 (used one to give the neighbor cancer) I have to you? I need to get these things out of here. I'm concerned about my children's ability to reproduce and not have them go through the endless whining that my wife and I had to endure.

Are you sure I can't pay you or something?

Good to see some sense of humor here. Some of these threads get a little intense for my tastes.

Re: 208 amax in stock

Today I was at the local sporting goods shop and I bought 2 boxes of the 208 A-max bullets. I was a little confused as to the look of relief on the shop owners face once I paid for them. Then, I remembered this thread here on the Hide. It was to late, I already swiped the card and the shop owner would not take them back. He actually forced me out of the shop. When I walked out of the store, the temperature rose from a mild 68 degrees to a scorching 110 degrees, quite unseasonable for late September in North Jersey. As soon as I put them in the car, I turned the key in the ignition and the car would not start. I became nervous so I took them out of the car, threw them in the garbage can in front of the store. My car auto-magicly started...WEIRD!! Another customer walking out of the store saw me throw them away and thought he struck gold! (Obviously he isn't a member of the Hide, or else he would have known better) He took them out of the can and walked away. The poor sap didn't get 50ft away when a lightning bolt struck him, not once but twice!!! Then to top it off the ground opened up, swallowed him, then closed back up like nothing happened! These things are evil!! I think the lead in these bullets is smelted in the cauldrons of hell. If you have any of these you need to get rid of, don't worry, send them to me immediately and I will make sure they are destroyed safely and properly.

Don't do it! Sure, they suck you in with all those pointy red tips, with all the lawn gnome cuteness. Then all manner of horrible things (some of which are clearly documented above) begin to happen.

I say leave them for the next terminally back-ordered fool to have his life ruined

Re: 208 amax in stock

I *just* got off the phone with Lindy at Hornady. The production run of 208's has be pushed back *AGAIN* to the end of Nov. They'll ship to dealers two weeks later. That means no 208's until at least the middle of Dec.

Re: 208 amax in stock

Just got off the phone with the helpful young lady at Hornady. 208 Amax production has been slipped to February, 2011. 208 BTHP's should be available Jan. 15.
