I just recently bought a LTR in 300saum and put it into a manners stock/chassis. I have some loads for both 175/190 smk that shoot great at 200yds they measure in the .500/.770 inch range. I cant get it to shoot 208's at all, they are all over the place triangle type groups that measure in the 2.5/3.0 inch range. I have used re17, and h4831 with the same results. I have tried 57-58gr of re17 with no change in groups. 9 1/2 primers and new remington brass all prepped the same as the 175/190 loads. any help would be great I am about ready to give up. My savage love the 208 bullet with h1000. my twist is 1-10 and I have been loading them at 2.900 oal.

Re: 208amax advice

Maybe try getting them a little closer to the lands and see if that helps any. I have never really had a problem with the 208s as they shot out of my Savage .300WM with just about any combo I threw at it but I did notice a little change is group size as I brought them in a little closer to the lands. Maybe others who have dealt with your particular cartridge/bullet combo will chime in with some further advice.
