I have a 300 wm. I want to step up and use either the 200 accubonds or the 208 amax. Both of these bullets have high bc's and I can stretch things out abit. Is it possible to get out of my 24in barrel 2900 fps with both of these bullets using retumbo or h1000 powders? All opinions are welcome.

Re: 208amax and 200 accubonds

I just finished a 200 grain Accubond with R22, and got 2873 fps. If you use a slower powder, you should get there. I like both those bullets. If you have to seat the bullet deep to fit in the magazine, I think the Accubond would be the way to go. If youhave room to seat out far, the 208 should work well.

I have the savage stevens 300wm right now. What I am going to do is put a rum internal box mag to give me the extra room to seat the bullets out there. We'll see how it goes.

24" Savage 110FCP-K LE.

I worked up loads using 208s and H1000 but can't find my notes on the data right now. I was around 2900 with that too, at the upper end of the charges, IIRC. Ended up with better accuracy with 7828, so now I have 7 lbs. of H1000 for sale. FYI.
