21" Noveske barrel for an AR-10(Yes Armalite)

Alright,

Rainier Arms and Noveske are sold out. Gunsamerica and gunbroker don't show any listings. Where can I find a 21 inch Noveske barrel for my AR-10? Come on gurus!! Any help is much appreciated!

21 is nice but way too heavy with the contour he puts on it....the most popular barrel is his 18"....I had the 21 and sold it..my 18 is great! Which IS in stock

I just ordered the 21" and then waited for 6 weeks back when I got mine.

It was worth it.

Get on the waiting list.

Noveske seems to run the 7.62 barrels in batches.

However I would echo the statements above. Unless you have a specific reason for the 21" then go with the 18".

I went with the 21" because I wanted the most velocity I could get. I wasn't worried about the extra weight.

Rainier Arms offers an ultra match 20" with their name on it for 400$. Says it weighs 3lbs. They seem to offer them in both armalite and dpms however some sizes are only one or the other so I would call first.

If you want noveske you'll have to get on the waiting list I think.

Well I got the 18" and I suppose it'll do for now. I may end up keeping it but I did click the "notify me" link on Rainier's website about the 21". Thanks guys.

How does Rainier Arms and Noveske headspace their barrels without supplying a bolt? Or is setting the headspace something the end user has to have smith'd?

So they are pre-headspaced off an Armalite bolt? I wonder if other brand bolts would work?

Krieger is offering their M110 barrel headspaced to your supplied bolt for $475. I know Krieger has a good reputation but I wonder how they compare to Noveske. I'm in the group buy for the Mega MA-Ten and I'm planning my build. Hence all the questions...

Rainier will only check headspace if you get the barrel and the bolt from them (obviously). On an AR, you don't modify the headspace. If the dimensions aren't correct, you just get another bolt or barrel and test again until the headspace is within spec.

Rainier will headspace on either Armalite or DPMS bolt/barrel combos. Like most they'll probably advise you to keep an Armalite bolt with an Armalite barrel extension and the same with DPMS.

DPMS and Armalite AR-10 bolts are interchangeable. Difference is in the carriers. Armalite uses the bolt rebound spring, DPMS does not. DPMS carrier has about .010" more steel between bolt face and rebound, thus no spring needed.

Noveske has always built on the Armalite platform. If they are doing DPMS now, it is a recent development.

Possible to run the DPMS bolt carrier group in the Armalite receiver; have done it. Understand the DPMS extension has different thread pattern than Armalite.

Noveske is Pac-Nor unless that too has recently changed. Nice gear. If spending the money, why not ask George Gardner GA Precision about a 10 barrel and matched bolt. If you really want The Best...

While a lot of the work is done at Pac Nor according to John they are not exactly the same. He buys his own barstock and the tooling they use is his and the barrels are "finished" at his shop, whatever that means. I don't know if it is still up but there was a good article in defensereview about it.

I have the 21'' on mine and I love it. I ordered it through Rainer. I just kept checking Noveske and Rainier over and over and over again till I found one in stock.

Inbox is now cleared! That's a Superior Weapon Systems E1 15" forearm. It's ultra light and rigid. I love the way it mounts, it's easy to remove but getting it "clocked" is kind of tricky. Here's a linky...
