looking for anyone who could share some load data- & or exsperience with 210 gr berger hunting bullets in a 300Win, also best-& or favorite powder for 300wm, I have been using H100 & 4831sc, new to reloading any advise appreciated, thanks,
you can use anything hat a 208gn Amax has been loaded with.for me both the 210gn Berger BT and the 208Amax shoot right on with one anther out to 500.cannot say anything out past 500.my got to load for either is 76gn's of H1000 and seated just into the lands.
This link here is your best info for the 208/210 combo in the 300WM. H1000 is a great pick, as well as H4831. You will get more velocity with H1000, and maybe even more with Retumbo.
Here you go. I got this load data from Berger. I am using part # 30419 Berger bullets. Sholuld be the same for their VLD's. 26" barrel and 3.340 COAL. Seems Retumbo, RE25, and IMR 7828SSC are the most popular powders.
thanks for all the responces, for a newby, this site is greatest thing since shirt pockets. Ive learned a lot from you guys on this site- & my groups are shrinking thanks to the Hide, so is my wallet...., but I dont think Ill ever buy loaded ammo again, to much fun to roll your own, I get to choose components & best of all I get to shoot more
R22. 72.7 grains. With brass fl resized then trimmed to 2.610". Wlrm primers. Shoots 2920 fps out of my 700 p. Still doing 2200 fps at 550 yds. Best group was 3" at 700 yds. At 100 yds it's a one hole group 90% of the time.
Been loading a buddies 300WM Thompson Encore Pro Hunter, 28" barrel for the last two days. Did as much as possible in regards to following Tres' info on precision reloading. Used only IMR 4831 and seated the 210 Berger VLD "just" kissing the lands. Started at 63gr and made it to 64.5gr when it started tearing a ragged hole and had seated the bullet just a "tad" deeper COL. I'm convinced that baby steps in all you do with this "will" start to show good at some point. Enjoy.
