Wanting to know if anyone has had experience using these as hunting rounds at closer ranges 100-300 yrds? I know they are designed primmarily as long range but how are they at the closer ranges? I have been using 200gr nosler with very good luck from 100-500 on deer.

I couldnt find any of the hunting VLD in time for hunting season this year so I just used the target VLD. It dropped my bull elk at 350 yards like a sack of taters. The bullet went right were it needed to and did its job. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

what load recipe are you using? i just picked up a box of the 210 vlds and am gonna start loading some up this week

I am using 70.5gn of RL22 with a federal GM primer, 210 VLD just touching the lands.

what case?, ive got alot of rem brass and nickel winchesters.
mine are the hunting vlds and i also noticed the hunting ones have a better bc than the target ones, any ideas?

I have only ever used Remington brass.
I don't have any experiance with the hunting VLD, however some people say they shoot the same?

I think the 210 target vlds should work fine on large game.They may not do a lot of damage but will get the job done.I"ve shot a couple ground hogs with them opened them up pretty good.
