Years ago, whenever I got a different .22 rimfire, I used to take it out to the range with at least 10 different kinds of ammo to see what it liked the best.

Most of the time, Eley Tennex was the most accurate, which was no big suprise because, at the time, it was about the most expensive, .22 ammo around.

What was a surprise, was that dirty, crappy, CCI Blazer usually shot pretty well out of most of the guns I've tried, and Eley "standard" was my regular, go-to ammo.

I don't see CCI Blazer, at my local Fleet Farm any more, and it seems that Remington has re-packaged Eley ammo.

Does anybody know what grade of Remington/Eley compares to the old, Eley "standard", and where to get Blazer??

Re: .22 ammo

Aimsurplus has Eley sport. It's stand velocity stuff so it might be the same. Link:

Georgia arms has CCI Blazer listed. I bought two case several months ago but it looks like the price has jumped way the hell up. Link:

My local stores have both in stock now and the cost is less even with sales tax. Maybe call arround before you mail order and you might beable to save some.

As far as I know, all of the Eley stuff is/was standard velocity.

Holy crap, I guess the price of Blazer has gone up--a LOT! I think the last time I bought a few bricks that they were like $8.

Thanks for the links!!

Re: .22 ammo

I have been shooting some of the Eley/Remington stuff. It is Eley primed, but I think the ammo is assembled under license by others, maybe Aguila. The lube has graphite in it.
