I have a Anschl 1416 that I am setting up for local .22 fu match’s (lollipops, small bullseye’s, etc..). I have stuck with SB on my longer range calibers but am new to 22. I’ll be going to a match to learn much more in a couple of weeks, but curious what scopes come to mind from the 22 guys I would consider? I know parallax adj. is important but don’t really know the models typically used in the 750 - 1250 price range? Maybe stay with German glass due to SB use? All opinions are welcome... Just trying to get a research jump on what I might be buying

Thanks

I put a Vortex Golden Eagle on my 1710 for shooting small paper targets. It should be right in your price range.

If known distance target shooting, i would chose a SFP with close focus to 25 yard or 36x fixed power like weaver T36 with a center dot, If unknown distance, then FFP with open center will work better( if under time stress, tree reticle would be even better). higher priced scopes only show their worth beyond 400 yards. inside 150 yards, even $300 to $500 SFP scopes are plenty clear to do the job. For FFP scope, i would buy the Ares ETR and be happy. Also the reason i like open center for 22lr shooting is: small center dot is fine for for aiming, but for unknown longer distances shooting, the dot covers the bullet hole too often, so harder for a shooter to correct for the follow up shoots.

Btrain: I use my Russian made Vostok 22lr rifle often shooting out to 110 yards, right now it has a Mueller 8-32x44 target scope on top. From 100 F heat to 20 F cold, i had used this scope, the glass is very clear out to 110 yards, I have no problem to see 22lr holes on paper. Shooting from front bi pod or rest, rear shoulder, mid priced ammo. it is a lots fun.

Just a note, not trying to be annoying.....

probably a function of autocorrect, but the term Anschluss described the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany
