22 ARC real finicky?

bolt or gas gun?
I’ve seen mixed results with gassers, but my bolt gun will stick 10 in 3/4” through a ladder test with multiple powders. I’ve tried varget, 8208, lever, shooters world Precision, n140, and Staball match and they all did damn near the same thing

Hornady’s 88 gr Eld-M load is money in my gun, but I could not reproduce it with hand loading. I found a great load using Berger 75 vlds, but they’ve been iffy to source. In my limited testing, these are the only 2 loads that were really good. So, yeah, maybe the 22 arc is a bit sensitive. All of my loading of the 22lr has been for a gas gun, with Hornady brass and cfe223, for what it is worth.

It’s actually a bolt-action AR upper. I have been running it at bolt action pressures and with Alpha brass I’m not getting any pressure signs. It’s just a range toy so I got a ballistic advantage barrel (fucked up) took it off and swapped with faxon’s new plain SS match series and it’s gotten better but still seems really picky. Want to build a bolt gun eventually as I really like this cartridge

At the higher end with Accurate 2520 (30grs) the 75 eld shot one of my best groups ever. I just hope it wasn’t a fluke ha
