22 Dasher

Best way is a custom FL sizing die. Typically can knock it down in one shot... but due to the 40 degree shoulder it's typically easier to neck turn 6BR, knock down to 22, then form as 22 dasher.

However, you can take small steps with a dasher bushing die, but all at once might risk collapsing the shoulder.

If you have access to the schematic of the reamer, you can figure out where the shoulder will be blown to and create a false shoulder by only turning the neck back to where the new shoulder will be. Best way I have found to produce nice clean shoulders on dashers and brx's, short of sending them off to let someone else hydroform them...

What about if I am not using Lapua brass but already formed Alpha 6 dasher brass
As Orkan said, a good die should be able to do it it one pass if you lube the body and neck well.

I did a bunch of 6BR to 22BR brass today. The only difference you and I have is a 10 degree shoulder angle. I did turn my necks prior to running them through the die, because I know that my brass will thicken, especially at the neck/shoulder junction. This can create a problem if a donut forms and you can't seat long bullets out past the donut. One-shot works really well for the initial sizing (use more than you normally would).

I would also make sure the die is screwed all the way down to the shell holder to give the shoulder a extra nudge back. When you seat bullets for the first time, run them .005 into the lands. That way you will have a solid push against the bolt face and get a nice form to the new case.
Good luck, it's not as hard as it sounds. You loose a case or two out of a box, but that's the price for shooting something fun and different.

How long is the neck according to this reamer print?
