I have an RCBS competition seater die for .223 and I'm going to start loading .308. Can I buy a .308 bushing to go into the die or do I need to buy a whole different die?
Although it can probably be done, you would also need the seating stem and the extended shell holder. IMO, you'd be better off with a seperate die for each caliber.
the stem is not large enough for the .30's and it will damage your tips. Unless you buy both the new stem and a bushing, you are probly just better off buying a new one
It can be done. You'll need 3 pieces. Seater stem, bushing and comp extended shelholder. Midsouth has all the parts you'll need. I think it will cost you around $30-$40. But, like others have stated. There are better dies out there where runout is concerned.
