So I just started getting into precision rifles, started with the 10/22, then a Tikka T3X .308, and then a T1X, both in Bravos, so my credit card bill isn't all that happy with me. I have a Saker 556 suppressor that's been sitting in the safe for years, so I want to put it on something... no better thing than to put it on another bolt rifle.

I'm trying to keep the costs down, but still want something fun to shoot in .223, I have a bunch of match ammo 69gr match ammo that I want to use (stopped shooting the AR). Goal is to paper punch @ 100/200 yards, practice fundamentals. I might be spoiled by the Tikka's actions but hopefully there are some comparable options?

Need to find something with an adjustable cheek rest as I usually need 0.7" of added height.

    Some things I've considered -
Tikka .223 Varmint, Get it threaded, put it in another KRG Bravo - Cost $1400.
    Howa 1500 Oryx - $1000 (they don't make a bravo in .223)
Bergara - wished they had a HMR in .223, but it looks like they only have the Premier for like $1400.

So requirements, adjustable cheek rest stock, threaded barrel 1/2x28. 1:8/1:7 twist, as 1:9 probably won't stabilize 77gr well if I decide to get some of that ammo.

    Thanks!

Question -- I have an Accurage Mag 308 5 rounder, and 2 MDT 10 rounder 308s. Can these mags be used at all for the .223? Or do I need to buy a whole new set of .223 magazines? Planning on getting another Bravo for the Tikka 223

Personally, I'd vote for a Howa Mini (1:8 twist, 10-round poly mag) or a CZ 527 (1:9 twist, 5-round steel mag). I like actions sized appropriately for the cartidge used. The right tool for the job, ya know?

I have a Savage 10/110 bolt action 223, Accu-Trigger, 20 inch heavy contour barrel, 1 in 9 twist with my handloads shooting 55 gr bullets it will place 5 shots in a nice little 3/8 inch group and do so consistently.

However I do not consider my rifle a long range rifle, long range to me is past 600 yards.
For target work on a calm day I would consider my Savage with my current handloads to be a 400 yard rifle, for hunting coyotes 350 would be max.

At one time I was a confirmed Remington shooter but Savage has changed that, however I'm not completely sold on their Accu-Trigger.
There is some Savage rifles that come with a faster twist like 1 in 7, to me they would be a better choice for longer range shooting in 223 (past 400 yards).

After doing more consideration, it looks like factory match loads on .223 and .308 are around the same price. Reloading, .223 would be cheaper but I don't plan on getting into that. So since I already own the T3X .308, which is overkill @ 200 yards, I'm not really saving much having an additional .223 bolt. I guess I'm saving my shoulder a little bit :) and my ears.

    Thanks everyone for the recommendation.

There's a T3X Varmint .223 BA on sale right now in the exchange too... was about to pull the trigger on it last night and order another Bravo... but that also means new 20moa rail, new rings, new scope. So really the cost is going to be ~$2000 when said and done...
