Hello,
I am working up a load for my .223. 26 inch 8tw....Bartlein tube. I have about 250 rounds on it so far and am running Lapua brass, varget and 75 eldm bullets on top of 450s. accuracy is seems fairly good at about 1/2 moa. The average velocity is 2739fps and an sd of 12. Does that seem slow at all?

For reference, I am pushing a 68gr BTHP through a 12.5in AR15 barrel at 2500fps. I know the weight of the bullet is a little lighter but you've got 14 more inches of barrel on me. How much Varget are you using?

Seems way slow to me, I'm @ 2825 out of a 20" 1-9, that's Varget and the 75 bthp.

Sorry, I just reread my post and had to edit...it should say 2739...NOT...2339 fps.....still seems a bit pokey compared to what you folks are seeing though....sorry for the mix up...and it is 23.5 grains of Varget...

75 eld 23.1 of ar comp 24” barrel @3000. That does seem real slow

COAL is 2.507. Bolt falls on a dummy round at 1.955-5 with the firing pin and ejector removed. (EDIT...not 15 thou off rifling as stated earlier but 5 thou off. It appears I have made a mistake. I tried to load at 1.950 BTO but when I measured just now it was at 1.960(which is a 10 thou jam and NOT the 5 thou off that I intended them to be. I dont know if this helps but just thought i would put it out there.

Im running 24.5 grains of Varget, getting around 2850.
