Anybody running a 22x47L as a predator rig? I currently run 6.5x47 with light bullets but have an itch for a fast twist .224" with a 20"-22" Proof carbon barrel. Only reason I'm considering it is the fact that I run the 6.5 and 6mm version. Kinda want to complete the trio. Post pictures if you have them.

Appreciate any feedback.

I was going to do the .224 version but went with the 20 cal version instead just in case you are considering it. That was a mistake because the 55gr Bergers started blowing up in my barrel at the 300 round mark, even slowed down. Right after working up the load I shot a rockchuck at 427Y with the 55gr leaving the muzzle at 3830 fps, most memorable as it helecoptered off the top of the highest point on the hill. The 40 gr vmax work fine at 4100 fps which is a light load??? Really destroys critters!

Wow. That's rediculous. I'm really looking at shooting the 70-80gr bullets for coyotes. In my experience the 50 class bullets produce way too many crawl offs. Anyone who disagrees with that hasn't hunted dogs in my neck of the woods. These little bastards out here are tough. Not to mention the average wind speed for us is 25mph. Makes those 300-500yd shots much harder. But a dedicated 20cal for bobcats is on my wish list!
