Got my 243 Ackley back from Chad at long rifles and its time to get fire forming and developing loads. Where I need the help is with loads. Little background: Brux barrel, 24 inches 1-8 twist. Will be using lapua brass. Hoping to use powder a I already have a bunch of which would be varget, H4350, cfe22, 2000MR, and reloader 15. Also have a little H4895. I have also stocked up on 87gr vmaxes and 105 Berger hybrids. Hoping to get some 105 amaxes but we all know how that's going to go right now. Anyway any shooting any of these in any combination in a 243 Ackley. If so please post up your gun specs and loads. Thanks in advance. Also can anyone reccomend a newer good book with Ackley info. Something with the new powders and bullets. I have seen the books that Parker Ackley wrote but its my understanding there isn't that into on the newer powders and such. Thanks.

My fireforming load 243 AI Lapua Brass
40 g H4350
COAL 2.8 (hitting the lands in my gun)
105 berger VLD
.33 group at 100 yards

With the 105 amax
40.5 H4350
Coal 2.724 (hitting the lands)
Clover leaf group

With the 105 amax and fire formed brass
42.5 H4350

I struck gold today. Found 5 boxes of 105gr Amaxs and 5 lbs of H4350

Thanks for the info guys.

Any other 243 Ackley loads anyone would like to share. Particularly with 87gr and 105gr bullets.
