Having a 243 built for tactical long gun with a barrel twist to run heavies. A see alot of the 115 Dtac being used. Anyone using matchkings or amax with good results for this application? Also can Winchester brass get several reloads in this caliber or stay with nosler? Thanks for any opinions

105 Amax does well when pushed @ 3000 FPS and faster. Also 107 Sierra does well. Winchester brass works fine and you can get plenty of life out of them if you take care of them. If you compete in lost brass matches then Winchester brass is the way to go. If not then run the nosler or Lapua if you can afford it.

105 Amax is really hard to beat at 2900-3000fps. Winchester brass is good brass, depending on how hot you run your loads and having your sizing die setup properly.
Without annealing the brass you should be able to load them at least 8-10 times. I have some Win brass that has 23 loads on them, but I annealed them every third firing.

I am getting really partial to the Hornady brass also.

Ive had great success with the 105amax.

My most accurate load so far has been:
40gn of IMR-4350
Lapua brass
Federal GM210 primers
Seated .018" off lands.

Make sure to work up to this load. Its a maximum load. I starting my workup at 37gn.

I'm currently working up a load using H4350 and Ill post results soon, should out shoot the IMR load.

115 DTAC is a great bullet as well, but you will need a 1:8, or 1:7 twist to stablize.

With the IMR load Im pushing 2900 fps, plenty fast IMO. This load has shot many one hole 5 shot groups at 100yrds.

105 berger VLD is another great bullet you might try.

H4350 would be hard powder to beat and that's what Id recommend you start with for the 105gn and heavier bullets.

Hornady 105 BTHP is a new option as it has a slightly higher BC than the AMAX, .530 vs .500. Both pushed by H4350 is a good set up.
