After reading info, it seams the .25-06 likes long barrels, 24" or more. Mine is 22", plus 2" of muzzle brake. Will this aid in helping it "think" it's a longer barrel? Sorry if this sounds crazy, just gotta ask. Only way to learn.

The answer is NO. What you need is a faster than normal powder. I use R22 and 100 grain bullets, that wouldn't work for you because you would have unburnt powder exiting the muzzle. At least, theoretically?

I bought this gun back in 2000 or 2001. Came as is(short barrel). I just put the break on so it's more fun to shoot. I'm not a big guy.
22-24" barrels are perfectly normal for the entire -06 family. Your break isn't going to speed anything up.
