25-06 reloading questions

Hello I recently purchased a 25-06 barrel for my TC Encore rifle and I made a dummy round to try in the rifle before I started to make any more like I usually do and that is when I ran into a problem. I have a SAECO 100 gr. TCGC bullet sized to .258" and seated to the Lyman Cast Handbook OAL of 3.015", when I tried it in the rifle all seemed okay until I closed the action and that is when I felt a bit of resistance and when I removed the bullet I could see the rifling marked the end of the bullet for around 0.147 - 0.157" and it also moved the bullet back to 3.009" and I also see a mark on the bullet not too far from the case mouth as seen in the picture below.

I know that the pressure will be increased by this but I also know that the pressure will be increased by seating the bullet deeper into the case, should I do a bit of both seat a bit deeper and let the rifling mark the end of the bullet. I guess I could also take some sandpaper and reduce the diameter of the end of the bullet until it doesn't leave a mark in the bullet but that seems to be a pain or should I just forget this bullet in this rifle?

Another question I have is I also have the Lyman 257420 65 gr. bullet but when I seat it to the OAL of 2.900" from the Lyman Cast Handbook the case mouth is in the middle of a lube groove, do you think I would be okay to seat it deeper so that I can put it into the lead between the two lube grooves so I could put a slight crimp on this case?

Any input from anyone that has dealt with this kind of problem before would be much appreciated.

Seat it deeper, just until you are .020 shorter than into the lands as you are now. Reduce your load if you think you need to. On the bottom picture, you look fine. If you want to seat into the lands this will eliminate headspace in your encore as it does in a contender. Adjust your sizer die accordingly to just close on a sized case and you are GTG.

Looks like you might have scraped the boolit on the end of the chamber (where the neck would end) in the top picture when you were chambering. Seat deeper, slowly, until you get either no, or very slight rifling marks. Use a dummy round to do this. It may be necessary to pull the bullet and use a fresh one a few times considering the lead, but you can try using a sharpie to witness it.

On the bottom one, I would seat until the lube grooves are in the case neck. I haven't a clue why they show a case length with the boolit juuuust in the neck, with the lube exposed to gather who knows what.

And pressure concerns...you're probably going to be running pretty mild loads with your lead, right? Just do the ole' start-low-work-up routine.
