Finally got around to some load development in my 25 creed ar10 today. I had 2 slam fires at the range today so i deceided to do some testing when i got home.. it’s a xcaliber barrel with matched bolt and firing pin in a set of aero receivers. I put Some primers into brass and tested if it would slam fire while on safe and it sure did with federal 210m (first pic). I couldnt Get it to fire with a cci 250(second pic) but it still left a mark on the primer.. headspace checks out just fine and have a match bolt to go with the barrel.. someone told me about a firing pin spring but can’t find much info on it.. how do i solve this problem. Thanks for the help.

Need more info to try and help.
Was this just from releasing the bolt? Finger off the trigger.
From the picture it sure looks like the hammer struck the pin, not the normal inertia light bump from pin weight.
Was the hammer dropped when that primer fired?
What trigger are you running?

Bolt locked back feeding from the mag. Rifle was on safe and the hammer didn’t drop once in roughly 40 try’s. It’s a cmc single stage drop in.

I don't think it's possible to generate enough inertia with the pin to do what is pictured.

Since you said the hammer didn't fall or follow, I would start by checking that the firing pin moves freely in the assembled BCG. I suspect there is a burr or piece of debris in the firing pin bore causing it to stay stuck in the forward position.
