If one were to consider building a 260, which action would be recommended to insure plenty of mag box room for the long bullets and powder charge?
I would prefer NOT to use a DBM but do enjoy a BDL-style bottom.

    Re: 260 action

go with a 6.5 creedmoor and stay with a short action. Your reasoning's is one reason why the creedmoor was born. New runs of Hornady brass are superior to any remington 260 brass yet still affordable. Stiller Predator actions have a bit longer mag cut out than a rem 700. I really dont know how that will play out if you plan on staying with rem 700 bottom metal and box magazine though. I would have to think that you need a detach bottom metal to take full advantage if you stay with a 260 rem. Nothing wrong with a 260 rem, but everything is right with a creedmoor. Look into it!!! Lee
