Going to build new F-class rifle and looking at the 260 ai. Which would be the least amount of prep time. The 308 Lapua necked or the 243 Lapua necked up?

I read the article on the Accurate Shooter about the 243 Brass leaving a donut when necked up. Will the 308 brass do the same?

What about sizing the 243 brass to 7mm, then back down to 6.5 would I still have the donut problem?

Re: 260 ai brass?

I use the Win 7-08 necked down and it works great. I think nosler makes factory 260 brass that should be pretty good. I just tried 100 pcs of 243 lapua and 20 pcs of 308 lapua and I'm gonna stick with win 7-08. I have 1000 pcs so I can weight sort if I want. And it's much easier. I've also up to 5 loads on a certain batch of mine and not having any trouble. Some might like the other better but thats just me.

+1. If you plan to shoot F-open, I wouldn't run a 260 AI. You only gain 75-100 fps over the standard 260 Rem. A 6.5x284 will easily get 200+ fps over the standard 260 Rem. Go 6.5x284 or faster/bigger.
