Re: .260 Brass trimming?
I "Fire Form" my new Remington brass, neck size it, and then trim it to 2.025, run it back through the neck sizing die one last time, and then load it.
I can then easily fire that brass 4-5 times in my bolt rifle without doing anything to it other than neck sizing it.
After 4-5 firings I will check it with a precision mic and caliper, and if need be full length size and trim.
I have shot and reloaded the majority of the brass 8-10 times and only needed to neck size it.
If you are getting that much flow and change in length with each firing, then I would guess the pressure is on the very high side, and/or the brass is on the really soft side.
Sorry, but I don't have any experience with necking brass up or down for a .260, so I am not sure how that could come into play?
Best of Luck,
M Richardson
PS: I have very good luck with the Remington Brass, takes a little work to prep it, but it has worked great for me so far.
