.260 neck tension question

My question is for those of you running Redding Type S dies, and Lapua brass for a .260, how much neck tension you putting in?

Any radical changes with a change +- in neck tension?

My initial goal was 0.002. Right now I'm at .2915 (loaded round) with a .290 bushing. I have a .289 for JIC.

I'm just curious what people are running, and how temp and neck tension are gonna corralate going into the hotter months.

I also use a 290 and also have a 289 JIC, Rem 260 and Win 7-08 necked down

Unless you are on the ragged edge with hot loads, increasing the neck tension by .001 will make little difference.

I run all my loads with a consistent neck tension that I "feel" with the press arm; probably only a pound or more so that would be required for the arme to just jall down by itelf. I get his by running custom internal neck reamers. 0.015 smaller than the bullet Im shooting. For a .308 bullet, I have a custom Forster. .30615 inside nec reamer. This gives me more consistent shot to shot bullet pull. I use the remaer as a pilot when I trim for length after resizing.

i use a 288 with rem brass and 293 with lapua 308 nd
this works in my chamber and gives .003

Hmmm, I loaded about 600 rounds for a buddy a couple of years back and he got both the .289" and .290" to go along with his RP brass. I think I ended up using the .290" for most of it.

YMMV, as they say.

.288 or .289 works great on all my 6.5's
