Ive been researching this round and it from what I found it does use the same BCG as the .308 but a smaller firing pin.

Then you Sir should be a great resource. Im building using Aero M5 upper and lower. Draco 22 barrel. I have to order a BCG but can only find one with the smaller firing pins.
Did you use a standard .308 BCG and face?
Is here anything special needed for the .260 remington compared to the 6.5 creedmoor. I built a creedmoor last year that has functioned without issue.
Nope. Nothing really special. i used all JP BCG and silent capture spring with a superlative arms adjustable gas block. gas system is rifle length +1
That def answers one of my biggest questions do I need a special bolt for the .260. Adjustable gas block was will def be ordered.

Nope. No worries. As for a special bolt.....any 308 bolt face will work. But if you are going to get JP, make sure to get the heavy H2 version with small firing pin.
prime 130’s are my go to round.
Not sure which one I will get at this point. My creedmoor I used an Aero which works fine. This will gun will only be shot occasionally so its not going to be a crazy expensive build.

Thanks for the link. That same site also has a tool craft BCG they say is specific for 260 rem. Do you see any difference in the one you sent and this one?

Your Aero bolt is likely a high pressure bolt with reduced size firing pin hole. Both the black nitride and the phosphate one are.
I swapped my .308 over to a .260 barrel. It blows primers on federal ammo but I found out later federal says their ammo isn’t for semi’s so wasn’t the large primer fault. It’s a Larue barrel w/PST andI run it in the suppressed position all the time. Ejects where it should unsuppressed or with Tranquilo. Once hunting season is over I plan to swap over to a Socom for testing and try to cut some weight.
Either will work. I would imagine the dual ejector bolt will toss the brass a bit further. I have two 308 AR rifles, one with a DPMS single ejector bolt, and the other with LMT dual ejector bolt. It’s a dual ejector, high pressure bolt. I’ve read several post here that it’s great for the price. Toolcraft is OEM for several companies. I don’t think the Failsafe is HP.
If you're using a dracos straight jacket barrel then you will need an adjustable gas key on you're bolt carrier to adjust gas. The dracos barrels come with a proprietary gas block that cannot be changed. Assuming you are not using an all steel barrel. Rubber city armory has high pressure bolt with adjustable gas key. You can also get a titanium bolt carrier version to pair with a jp scs buffer.
I looked it up. Can I add the adjustable gas key to the Toolcraft bolt I ordered? It looks like you can possiblt.

I went though the research for this since I've been shooting the 260 in a bolt gun for very near two decades. I absolutely love the chambering, but the AR-10 platform in .260 was just looking to be too expensive for me to handle.
I started looking into the 6.5 Grendel in an AR-15 platform, and the equation balanced far better. I have a pair of them (20" and 24") doing load development just now, and I think they're going to be excellent shooters.
I made a trade-off. I'm far more familiar with the AR-15 platform, and have handloaded for the 6.5mm a long time now. Combine that with a local average altitude of 4350ft ASL and some serious difficulty finding venues beyond 300yd, and the Grendel became a very good solution. I'm getting older, and my needs have changed. The Grendel matured just when I had a good use for it.
BTW, I like Bushnell's AR Drop Zone BDC scopes, and will have a half dozen of them by Friday. Research into the chamberings (6.5grendel/123SST vs 308/168) revealed that the Grendel's trajectory at 500yd was about 3" lower at 500yd, and less than 1/2" off at 300yd. So I'll be setting up my Grendels with Bushnell AR Drop Zone BDC 308 scopes once the loads are established.
The bug in this soup is that Bushnell is discontinuing the 308 (others?) BDC scopes, and remaining stocks are getting low. Check with Optics Planet where I got mine for $159 each soon, and others, Camera Land is a a big supporter of this site.

.260 is a bitchin' round, particularly out of a gas gun. I've been shooting an LRP 07 in .260 for over 5 years. A lot of fun.
