260 remington

Re: 260 remington

I make mine from 7mm-08 cases made by Winchester. It's the cheapest 308 based case I can order.

The 308 - 260 will require 2 steps to get them down to size. 243 and 7mm-08 require 1 easy step.

Personally, unless the price difference is worth your time to do the extra step (and generally, the extra runout that's induced from 2 steps instead of 1) I would just buy the brass which is cheaper in 243 or 7mm-08.

I use 7-08 brass in winchester and it is extremely easy in one step. Going from .308 brass i think the donut problem will turn up relatively early unless you turn the inside necks.

Re: 260 remington

Seems it's never been a problem sizing 308's to 243's in one pass, I don't forsee going to 260 in one pass a problem either. The smart thing to do is do a chamber cast first to know the neck dimension of your chamber. With that said, I have dies in 243, 260, 7-08, and 308, so I always make any of them starting with 308 Lapua brass, and neck turn if needed. Going up in caibers, you tend to find donuts, as the shoulders end up being part of the neck.
