I was just curious what anybody is getting for velocity out of there AR in 260? any bullet weight or barrel length? I just ran mine through the chrono today with the 120 amax 24in barrel 43gr of reloader 19 and were running about 2750 average.

Have you had any problems with feeding from mags? I mentioned building a creedmoor to a know it all gun store employee and he was certain that these rounds don't feed properly from mags because the case wall is more straight than a .260/.308.

Sorry to thread-jack, didn't want to start a new thread for a quick question.

6.5 creedmoor works great in a gas gun. I just got a gap10 with 20 inch barrel chambered in 6.5 cm. I have fired about 300 rounds and had one failure to feed only because I had adjusted the gas block to much. Backed out the screw a little and it runs great.

GAP are also making their GAP10 in 6mm Creedmoor, and I have one on order with them in 6XC. I think the general consensus now is the CM (either 6.5 or 6) is the preferred way to go over the 260 and 243 from a AR10/LR308 due to the longer higher BC bullets that can be loaded to mag length.

I have a bare stock DPMS 20" in 260, I switch my loads from my 260 bolt gun to the gas gun I loose about 100 to 150 fps. Of course my bolt gun has a 25" barrel. But the accuracy is pretty good for stock, 3/4 moa usually. I usually shoot 142 SMK or 140 Amax, but the 123SMK shoot good also.

Re: 260 Velocity out of a gas gun?

I am looking into either the .260, or 6.5CM barrel for my MWS. However, with a 20" barrel niether of these calibers seem to be moving crazy fast.

Do these slower speeds still give an advantage to gas gun users in windage and drop? I am shooting a 16" .308 now so I am sure I will see a vast improvement with a 20" 6.5mm offering, but what about when compared to a 20" .308 instead of my current short barrel?
