Range Report 260 Vs 6mm ai

i was curious on your thoughts on these two cartridges for long rane shooting out to 500 or 1000yd and also performance on coyote and deer sized game. if you could only choose one what would it be?

In a short action, the .260 or .243 or AI versions. Wouldn't do a 6mm in a short action, at least not with VLD type bullets...

may i ask why you wouldnt do a 6mmai in a short action i would shoot the 130 jlk (close to bergers) out of the 260 and 95 vld out of 6mmai

The case on the 6mm is fairly long as it is add in a long high bc bullet in a short action the bullet has to be seated pretty far into the case.

Thus negating the advantage of an AI. The 6mmAI is one of my favorite cartridges, i'm not sure what the ballistics are compared to the 260 but I would be willing to bet drop & drift are a good bit less.

I've killed quite a few Wyoming mulies with a little .243... the shooter (IMHO) is more important that the rifle. Either will kill the shit out of a deer but the .260 will probably have a better BBL life.
