I am going to start loading for this rifle as my primary deer hunting rifle. Its a Remington 700 Custom Shop .280 Mountain Rifle that I converted to a BDL and skim bedded into a B&C Alaskan stock. For components I have H-4350, 139 SSTs and 140 Accubonds, Rem brass, and CCI primers.

What would be a good starting load and seating depth for a Remington chamber with a mile long throat.

Thanks.

I'm no real help other than I have a Remington 700 Mountain rifle and I use Remington Cases....I use a max load of Reloader 17 with a 160gr Partition (its my elk HUNTING rifle). I use an over all length of 3.315". Average velocity runs 2825 fps

It's pretty hard to beat a good 160-162 grain bullet out of any standard 7mm, like in the: 7mm-08, 7x57, 280 Rem, 284 Win, and 7x64mm Brenneke.

Looking at my old reloading notes for the 280 Rem, I used 55.6 grains RL-19, Fed 210 primer, Rem case, all under a 160 gr Nosler. Clocked @2855 FPS from a 24" barrel.
