Re: .280 REMINGTON RELOADING
What's the twist rate? Here's two loads that shot well for my rifle this weekend.
120 Sierra Spitzer SP
0.020" jump
49.6gr BLC-2
Fed Primer, Fed brass unprepped
After zeroing, 6 rounds could be covered by a dime.
180 Berger XDR Hybrid
0.015" Jump
56.0gr RL22 (this is a hot load, work up to it)
Fed brass, fed primer.
3 rounds covered by a nickel at 100y, but the light shines at longer distances: 3 rounds covered by a quarter at 300yd.
I have not had much time (I just finished the rifle on Saturday at midnight) so I will be testing the loads further to dial them in some more.
Barrel is a 28" Shilen 1:9" twist
Actual chamber is a 7mm-270, but for ballistics/loading purposes it's a 280 Rem.
Update:
162 Amax
10 thou off lands
Wolf LR mag primer
52.5gr H4831sc
Shot very well.
