280 remington

Re: 280 remington

I'm running the 280 Ackley but can attest that the standard 280 is a very fine hunting cartridge for nearly anything in North America with the proper bullet.

Re: 280 remington

Been hunting with my Remington 700 in 280 rem for years. A christmas present from my dad. Love it, great deer round or what ever you desire. I just finished reloading a bunch of 140gn nosler BT's for it. Never had a deer even run with it. Have shot deer out to 400+ with it.

Re: 280 remington

The .280 is an outstanding cartridge.

I've used it and now have a .280 AI. The only reason I prefer the AI is because it doesn't stretch brass as bad when loading it up. But with decent brass you won't spend a fortune shooting it. And, in a standard twist, you have plenty of horsepower to drive the heavy 180's at effective speeds.

Re: 280 remington

Been shooting mine for the past 4 seasons for NRA Long range. 61.5gr of H1000 and a molly coated 175gr SMK or 180 Hybrid. Works great and will shoot inside a 6.5x284 with much better barrel life.
