Gunsmithing 284 Winchester specifics

I think I'd like to try a straight 284 Winchester.
I've got a Remington 700 long-action in an AICS 2.0.

I ordered some 162gr AMAX. Winchester & Lapua brass.
Reloder 17. Haven't found an 180gr Berger VLD yet. That's really
what I hope to shoot.

Thinking maybe 27" heavy barrel.

Should I tell the gunsmith anything special for chambering?

Any point in having the action bedded to the AICS?

Re: 284 Winchester specifics

i have my chamber set up so 175 smk's are about .025" off the lands when loaded to 3.1" oal. this is working very good for me. i am running a non-bedded aics 1.5 and se no reason to bed it.

Re: 284 Winchester specifics

dont worry about bedding the action to a aics
most people do that because the AI rifles have it
but what they dont realize is those actions are bonded
not bedded

got any pics of one?
either way if i was going that route and had a funky reciever i would spend the money on a new reciever or fixing the one i had rather than bedding into a aics
