Range Report 2950 with a 6.5 Creedmore?

Re: 2950 with a 6.5 Creedmore?

I think that would be pushing it a bit. I have gotten 2870fps with no pressure signs with the 140 AMAX and H4350.

It's possible once! Get a bigger case if you need that speed.

6.5 Creedmoor Hornady Superperformance 129 gr. SST is advertised at this velocity.
I don't know what barrel length was supposed to be used.

That's about as close as you're going to get I think.

Re: 2950 with a 6.5 Creedmore?

I got 2910fps with RL-17, but although it didn't show typical pressure signs, it did fluctuate vastly, and shucked a couple primers.

I say you can do 2900+ with the CM, but at the expense of your brass... Not to mention the RL-17 didn't seem to be that consistent, although I'm going to retry it before I commit to that statement as I was having some funky neck tension problems at the time.

Guys an accurate load isn't always the fastest and vice versa. Don't get locked up around the axle on getting the most speed. I run them around 2800fps and I am very happy with the performance. You can easily get them to 2850-2900fps with 140s but I wouldn't go higher.

Well said!

I found very good accuracy with my testing on RL17, but the weather has turned now and I will approach with caution.
It gets pretty steamy down here this time of year.
