Was able to make up another batch of reloads yesterday and went to the range this morning with my LMT MWS. I mixed it up this time with some much cheaper hornady .308 168grn bthp "amp" jacket bullets (rather than sierra matchking bullets),,,, 38.4grn benchmark powder, once fired 7.62 nato brass, and standard cci #200 primers. Although my groupings were not as good as my sierra matchking hpbt 175gr bullets with BR-2 primers,,,, the hornady 168grn bthp "amp" jacket bullets with standard cci 200 primers was a really really close second. The big difference for me was my pocket book in which the hornady bullets cost me $26 dollars per 100,,, in comparison to the seirra's $36 dollars per 100. Was able to reload $8.80 per 20round count with the hornady bullets and standard primers using my once fired brass. I should've been reloading a LONG time ago as this is starting to save me big time dollars as my factory ammo runs me about $17 to $20 per 20round count box. This savings is starting to make up for my reloading equipment cost,,,, OR i'm just getting to shoot much more ammo!! LOL, either way it's a good thing. BTW, the velcro brass protector is still holding up really strong even after 100 rounds beating it up. I've included a 5shot test group with some factory ammo 7.62x51 nato american eagle 168grn bthp.... Enough talk, here are the pics:

reload 5shot group3 after I adjusted scope to zero... was nuts on:

reload 5shot group2 before I adjusted scope for zero:

factory 5shot group test 7.62x51 american eagle 168grn ammo:

velcro brass protector deflector still holding strong after 100rounds, still no dinged brass!:

Damn right. Looks like it is shooting every thing consistently
Really nice group with the factory American eagle cause that stuff is not exactly match grade stuff. You going to try any with some match ammo? Cool brass saver !!

yeah, i'll try some match grade for ya... I'll see if I can pick up a box next time I'm in town. twist my arm please! so far I'm really impressed with the cheap american eagle ammo... I'm able to get it shipped to my front door for $16.50 a box and then use that brass for reloading... It's just a nice set up IMO.

Sounds like your having a blast with this hobby. I enjoy reading your post because you have a great attitude and are having fun with the sport. Nice rifle and reloading setup. Keep the pics and post coming.

thanks 78steeler... I am having a blast! now that I somewhat have this reloading thing figured out and it only takes me about 3 to 4 hours from cleaning fired brass to finished reloaded ammo ready to shoot. Short of snowboarding, reloading ammo and shooting my rifles and pistols is LOADS of fun. Thanks for the post and I'll try my best.

Now I need to get off my ass to shoot for groups, lol. When you zeroed Elf what is your windage and elevation at for 100 yards? For me at 200 yards I am at 6 for elevation and 6.25 for windage right. It seems drastic to make that much for corrections. I borrowed a monopod grip and it makes thes barrel sit higher than my harris does.

I will take a few pics if you need to see what I'm talking about.

really, the only thing i was adjusting my scope for was the low starting powder charges in my reloads as in comparison to my factory american eagle ammo (in which my factory ammo must be really high grain powder as my factory ammo really kicks)... all I did was adjust my scope up 7 clicks for my reloads and it was right back on target. that's all i really did.... when i was done shooting i went back to my zero on my scope turret.
