Looking at buying one of these three Leupold models that are at my max price point.

4.5-14x50 M-1 illum.TMR Model#67965
6.5-20x50 M-1 illum.TMR Model#67975
8.5-25x50 M-5 illum.TMR Model#113092

Will be going on 20" stock 700 5R .308 to shoot anywhere from 100-1000.

Have a Trijicon 5-20x50 now and am used to the 20x magnification and like it. Couldn't imagine going less max mag at this point.

Like the M5/TMR match but heard some bad reviews on the 8.5-25 as far as eye relief, FOV and blur at high magnification.

Will appreciate any advice on these scopes. Owned Leupolds before but never a Mark 4. Thanks!

Re: 3 Leupold Mark4 LR/T Models

I have had the Leupold 4.5 x 14 and the 6.5 x 20 and I really liked the 6.5 x 20 the best. I have never tried the upper one and don't really see the need as that is a lot of magnification that will end up being blurred by the mirage anyways. So, if I were going to buy one I think I would get the 6.5 x 20 unless the other one was just such a screaming deal I couldn't help myself.

I like the 4.5x14s they are a great scope. I find the eye relief to be more sensitive with the other two.

The other thing I have found is when on higher magnification its like shooting through a swimming pool when its hot out.

I have tried others and that is the model i have on my .300wm and .308</div></div> Unfortunately the only M5 6.5-20x50 are ER/T front-focal models and it puts that choice out of the budget.
That's why the 8.5-25 became an option - because it's mil/mil.
What model # do you have?

It's the only scope I own right now and tired of swapping it over to other guns. Trijicon estimates at least a few weeks minimum turn around. This extra cash definitely won't last long - so now is the time to buy a second scope!!!
